We are developing plans to extend the Greenbank Station building. The idea is to provide a new, larger Meeting Space for up to 200 people. More and bigger rooms would then be able to be provided in the existing building for Sunday School, Toddlers, new Kitchen, Midweek Cafes etc.

The building is designed to say to people, amongst other things, that we (and Christ) and welcoming, transparent, accessible, contemporary, down to earth and that we follow Christ as our Lord.

The Planners require the extension to be designed so that the two storey section of the existing train station remains dominant. This means the extension needs to keep its head down and appear smaller than it is. There are no changes proposed to the existing first floor of Christ Church.

The design ideas above will likely be subject to a lot of changes in the coming months due to meetings with the Planners and the landlord, more design thought and time, advice about security and vandalism, plus peoples' comments.... so keep watching this space.
