Every year, we have one or more Ministry Trainees working at Christ Church and St John's. They may help out with specific areas of work, such as Youth Ministry, or may work more widely to assist with the smooth running of the church. Trainees may come from a variety of backgrounds - young people looking to serve God during a gap year, or possibly someone who is considering full-time ministry and who wants to gain some real experience of working in a church.

For 2011 to 2012, Suzanne Askew will be a ministry trainee specifically working at Christ Church for most of her time.

I have recently moved back to Hartford to do a second year as a Ministry Trainee, having just completed an MA in Romantic and Victorian Literature at Lancaster University. I will be helping with the youth and children’s groups, getting involved in all the other groups at Christ Church, and doing the odd bit of admin too! I love reading, playing the piano and sharing tea and cake with friends. As well as doing all these things whilst in Hartford, I am particularly looking forward to serving the church family at Christ Church and seeing people grow in their love and knowledge of the Lord Jesus.
